Sunflowers and zinnias grow very well in the high desert climate which is hot and dry. I love having bouquets of these beauties , gathered from my backyard garden, in my living room.

When the sun streams in my window illuminating the flowers, I often get inspired to do a painting of them

Unlike when I paint with oil on canvas, when working directly from nature I strive to recreate the reality my eyes see.
