In October, 2018 the Bulgarian journalist, Victoria Marinova, was brutally raped and murdered. She was an amazing investigative journalist who worked hard to expose fraud and corruption. She was loved by the Bulgarian people. Her murder caused international outrage and affected me very deeply.

I felt called to create a painting of her that, while recognizing the brutality of her death, highlights the beautiful light of her soul.
