I planted zinnias for the first time a couple of years ago without realizing there were different varieties or that it had been considered to be a weed in the 1800’s. I was expecting large zinnia flowers but I had planted a smaller variety, closer to the wild version of the plant.

Picking them, arranging them in a vase and then painting that arrangement reminded me to take pleasure in the simple things of life. Big and grand isn’t always necessary.
